Job Description
SUMMARY:
Performs general
repair and maintenance on communications towers,
requiring significant travel and the ability to
climb to heights in excess of 500 feet.
Responsibilities include,
but are not limited to, installing mounts, lines and
antennas.
Job Requirements:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-
Must have the
physical ability and the willingness to climb
towers in excess of 500 feet;
-
Performance of
general repair of tower lighting to include, but
not limited to: strobes, beacons and obstruction
lighting maintenance/repair; lighting
controllers and monitors maintenance/repair;
work with high voltage systems (dc and ac);
-
Pick-up/delivery
of supplies, tools, equipment, components, etc.,
via Company vehicle;
-
Utilization of
Dispatching software to optimize and plan out a
daily schedule of tickets;
-
Maintenance and
submission of complete and accurate
files/logs/reports as determined by Lighting
Tech Supervisor and/or other management
personnel;
-
Performance tower
antenna and height mapping for tenant activity
and Regulatory compliance; and
Performance of the
installation of new lighting systems, as well as
the removal of old lighting systems
Development and maintenance of
a positive company image, as follows:
·
Providing superior customer service ensuring all
essential job functions are performed in a timely,
efficient, accurate, and safe manner;
·
Adhering to all driving requirements as determined
by State and Federal legislation; and
·
Adhering to all Company and industry (i.e., OSHA)
standards/regulations.
Effective utilization of available
resources, technology, and tools to complete work;
and

Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as
additional legal regulatory requirements; and
-
The completion of all required training within
company provided time limits. Training includes,
but is not limited to: OSHA 10 Hour, Asbestos,
New Hire Learning Plan, CPR/First Aid, Tower
Climbing and Rescue Certification.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid
drivers license and a clean driving record to
operate a company vehicle
·
Ability to climb heights up to and including 500
feet
·
Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out
instructions
·
Demonstrated safe driving record required
·
Great physical condition and stamina
·
Good communication and interpersonal skills
·
Organized with a strong attention to detail
·
Self-starter, team player,
results oriented
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
-
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
1+ year(s) general construction, electrical,
technical, or mechanical experience
ENVIRONMENT:
100% of work is performed
externally, on-site, outdoors, with exposure to
the elements of nature working under normal
construction conditions.
Travel is required in support
of the position’s responsibilities.
While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is regularly required to
sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel
and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and
hear. While performing the duties of this
job, the employee frequently is required to
stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a
force up to a maximum of 75 pounds.

after installation

Adjust power levels and
commission equipment

Conduct system troubleshooting
·
Prepare system acceptance as
As-Built documentation
Candidates should be capable of
climb ladders/stairs while carrying test equipment
Valid, clean driver’s license
is required

Conducts site surveys for
In-Building projects to determine antenna locations,
cable routes, and proposed equipment room location.

Conducts RF Testing to
determine the field strengths and coverage for every
antenna inside the building using Anritsu Site
Master, phone in test modes and laptop data
collection software.
·
Optimize CDMA and Evdo
performance in the building
·
Performs signal verification.
If the design implementation met the criteria
set by the client in terms of overall coverage and
quality of the indoor antenna system.

minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
Valid U.S. drivers license and some travel is

Tower Climbers

drivers license and some travel is required.

Commercial
data cabling (CAT5) and RF installation experience
is required.
Valid U.S. drivers license and some travel is
required.
Electrician-Supervisor
Experience Required. Journeymen card preferred.
Valid U.S. drivers license and some travel is
required.
Electrician
Experience Required. Journeymen card preferred.
Valid U.S. drivers license and some travel is
required.
Electrician's Helper
Experience
Required. Valid U.S. drivers license and some
travel is required.
